There is a very inspirational story in the Muskegon News today from Bob Springstead, a lawyer who started at 400 lb and lost over 150 by setting goals and getting into a good program. Bob is also a snorer who uses a CPAP machine and I’ll be interested to hear whether he can adjust or even stop using it.
I wrestled with the role food played in my life and realized that long-term success required changing my thoughts, behaviors, and habits. I discovered that I ate to celebrate, when I was upset, bored, under stress, and for entertainment. I learned to identify the feelings that made me over eat, and then deal with them in a healthier manner.
